Stand out from the crowd...

The demand for factual and non-factual programming is greater than ever – but it’s a crowded marketplace and every channel is trying to stand out. Ideas have to be strong and distinctive and really catch the eye. Access (where applicable) has to be secured rather than hoped for. Have a look at the News section to familiarise yourself with what some of the commissioners are looking for. 

While we’re interested in exciting single shows, above all we’re looking for formats and returnable series.

Process...

Once ideas are submitted they’re logged in and assessed. We’re more than happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement and suggest you use this one. We look into how distinctive the idea is, see whether further work is required, foresee potential legal issues, highlight any questions around access, investigate the form for the pitch and whether it has a natural home with one particular channel. If we agree to take your project on, then, similar to a literary agency, we have a simple and easy to understand contract so that both parties know exactly where they stand. We negotiate with the channels on your behalf and keep you informed of any feedback. Above all we’re in a stronger negotiating position than any individual and many companies because we handle a number of ideas at any one time. 

Unfortunately we can’t take on every idea but we treat every one confidentially and we’re always happy to give advice.
